Bringing People Together: Erasmus+ Mobility in Practice
During the period from April 13 to April 17, 2026, the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, hosted Gabriela Hirjakova from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria within the Erasmus+ mobility programme. Professor Branka Zolak Poljašević welcomed colleague Hirjakova.
During her visit, Ms Hirjakova had the opportunity to learn about faculty’s organization, teaching process, academic environment, and institutional activities. The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of project support and international cooperation.
Erasmus+ mobility programmes are of particular importance as they enable participants to explore different cultures, educational systems, and working approaches, while fostering connections and contributing to the development of an open and modern academic environment. This visit is the result of a previous Erasmus+ exchange, which contributed to the development of professional contacts and also serves as a foundation for enhancing institutional cooperation.
The Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka continues to actively participate in international programmes, with the aim of strengthening institutional cooperation and improving the quality of its work.

Research visit of professor Wioletta Czemiel‑Grzybowska at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka
Professor Wioletta Czemiel‑Grzybowska, from the Department of Management, Economy and Finance, Faculty of Engineering Management, Bialystok University of Technology, Poland, is currently staying at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, from November 17 to December 19, 2025, as part of a research exchange and academic cooperation program.
Professor Wioletta Czemiel‑Grzybowska is a distinguished researcher in the fields of management and economics, with a particular focus on technology entrepreneurship, sustainable regional development, innovation, energy efficiency, and applications of artificial intelligence in economic processes. She is also actively engaged in the financing of infrastructure and development projects, as well as in the promotion of social responsibility in higher education. She has participated in numerous interdisciplinary and national projects, including:
- "EUROPE-LAND" – sustainable land-use strategies in the context of climate and biodiversity challenges;
- “Financing of Regional Development” – a research program on public funding and SME support;
- INTERREG IIIA Microenterprise Program (ERDF) – expert in the field of microenterprises;
- Socio-Economic Development Strategy for Eastern Poland until 2020 – expert at the Ministry of Regional Development;
- ZPORR – Technical Assistance Program – member of the Payment Application Approval Committee;
- Niemen Euroregion Council and the National Rural Network – member of policy advisory bodies for regional development.
During her stay, professor Czemiel‑Grzybowska is collaborating with her research mentor from our faculty, assistant professor Jadranka Petrović, and their joint work will result in upcoming academic publications.

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching - Dr. Styliani (Stella) Kladou from Hellenic Mediterranean University, Heraklion, Greece
As part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching, Dr Styliani Kladou, Assistant Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University (Heraklion, Greece), visited the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka from June 16 to June 20, 2025. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Kladou serves as Editor-in-Chief of Services Marketing Quarterly and is a Visiting Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University.
During her stay, Dr. Kladou delivered a lecture titled: “Resilient Futures & ESG: A Focus on Gender and Inclusion,” engaging students and staff in a timely discussion on sustainability, equity, and responsible business practices.
She expressed particular admiration for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting how the visit left a strong personal and professional impression.

Visit of Professors from the University of Granada within the Erasmus+ Program
As part of the Erasmus+ international exchange program, the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka had the honor of hosting two distinguished professors from the University of Granada, Spain: Prof. Dr. Manuel Ríos de Haro and Prof. Dr. Amparo María Molina Martín.
The professors visited the Faculty from July 7 to July 11, 2025. During their stay, they met with representatives of the Faculty of Economics to discuss opportunities for future academic collaboration, including student and staff mobility, as well as prospects for joint research projects.
This visit represents a significant step forward in strengthening international cooperation and academic mobility, which are vital for the continued development and enhancement of both teaching quality and scientific research at our Faculty.
Through initiatives such as this, the Faculty of Economics seeks to expand its institutional capacities, enrich teaching practices, and actively contribute to the internationalization of higher education.

Visit of Lucie Mořkovská from Masaryk University in Brno within the Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Program
The Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, hosted Lucie Mořkovská from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training program. Ms. Mořkovská is a Project Manager at Masaryk University. The visit took place from June 2 to June 6, 2025.
This visit represents an important step in strengthening international cooperation between our institution and Masaryk University, with whom we already maintain a successful partnership. It opens new avenues for joint research projects, academic exchange, and the development of innovative educational programs.
The exchange of experiences and expertise contributes to the enhancement of teaching quality and the expansion of partnership networks within the Erasmus+ framework.

Visit of Representatives from the Hellenic Mediterranean University of Crete to the Faculty of Economics within the Erasmus+ Program
As part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility program – Mobility Agreement: Staff Mobility for Training – five representatives from the Hellenic Mediterranean University (Crete, Greece) visited Banja Luka from May 12 to May 16, 2025.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the delegation visited the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka. During the visit, the guests became familiar with the Faculty’s academic programs, institutional structure, and the activities of the Office for International Cooperation.
The Faculty’s work and achievements in the fields of scientific research and internationalization were presented through an interactive exchange of experiences with Greek colleagues by Prof. Dr. Dragan Gligorić, Vice Dean for Research and International Cooperation, and Vladana Ritan, International Cooperation Coordinator.
Experiences were shared on both administrative and academic practices, along with examples of good practice in the implementation of international partnerships. The visit unfolded in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, with both sides expressing a strong mutual interest in continuing cooperation—particularly in the area of student and staff mobility.
The Faculty of Economics remains committed to fostering internationalization and to building stronger ties with partner institutions across the European Higher Education Area.

Knowledge and Experience Exchange within the CEEPUS Network at the Faculty of Economics
As part of the CEEPUS exchange program and the FINALIST network, the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, hosted Prof. Svetlana Nikoličić, Full Professor at the Department of Logistics and Intermodal Transport, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in early May 2025.
During her stay in Banja Luka, Prof. Nikoličić became acquainted with the work of the host institution, exchanged experiences related to teaching and research, and discussed possibilities for future collaboration.
As part of the visit, on May 5, 2025, she delivered a lecture to students of the Faculty of Economics on the topic of study opportunities abroad through the CEEPUS platform, also presenting her home institution.
Students had the opportunity to hear first-hand about the application process, advantages of the program, and received valuable personal insights and tips on selecting partner institutions.
These types of exchanges represent an important aspect of the internationalization strategy and serve as a motivational platform for young people to take full advantage of academic mobility opportunities across Central Europe.
