Project Description:
The RDBIH project aims to enhance research and development (R&D) capacities in Bosnia and Herzegovina by creating strategic frameworks, establishing research and development centers, and developing a national collaboration network between universities, industry, and the public sector.
Key Project Objectives:
- Development of R&D strategies at the entity/cantonal level in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Establishment of research and development centers at leading universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Creation of a digital platform to connect research institutions and facilitate cooperation between academia and industry.
- Strengthening the capacities of academic staff through training sessions and working forums.
- Enhancing collaboration between higher education institutions, government institutions, and the business sector.
Key Activities and Outcomes:
- Analysis of the existing R&D landscape in Bosnia and Herzegovina – including SWOT analysis, surveys, and focus groups with relevant stakeholders.
- Development of strategic documents and action plans – including concrete models for the establishment and management of R&D centers.
- Establishment of R&D centers at six universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina – equipped with resources and personnel to support scientific research.
- Training young researchers and academic staff – through seminars, training programs, and study visits to EU partner institutions.
- Development of a digital platform for the R&D network – enabling the connection of researchers, universities, and industry stakeholders.
Expected Impact:
The RDBIH project will contribute to strengthening research capacities at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, improving cooperation with the industry and public sector, and fostering a sustainable research and innovation ecosystem. Through the development of new strategies, the establishment of research centers, and the creation of a collaboration network, the project will significantly enhance the quality of scientific work and the competitiveness of research institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
