About the Institute of Economic Sciences
The Institute of Economic Sciences of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, was established in 1987 as a sub-organizational unit of the Faculty with the aim of developing scientific research activities and promoting the application of economic science in practice.
The core activities of the Institute include conducting scientific research projects, preparing reports, studies, expert analyses, and assessments, as well as market research, business evaluations, and the provision of consulting services. In addition, the Institute actively contributes to the education of teachers, associates, and researchers, as well as to the training of personnel in both the public and private sectors.
A particular focus of the Institute is on empirical research that contributes to a better understanding of economic trends and the formulation of economic policy measures that can foster sustainable growth and development.
Throughout its decades of work, the Institute has implemented numerous projects and studies of national and regional importance, provided consulting services to public institutions and businesses, and developed cooperation with partners from both domestic and international institutions. A special place in the Institute’s activities is dedicated to strengthening the connection between academia and the real sector, including the organization of student internships.
The Institute’s research team consists of professors and associates of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, as well as renowned economists and scientists from the region and other countries, depending on the needs and nature of specific projects.
The future development of the Institute is directed toward strengthening its role as an important contributor to socio-economic development and establishing itself as a recognizable center for economic research in the country and the region.
