Students from all Meridians at the Faculty of Economics: Koeun Ji from the Republic of Korea Spent One Semester at the University of Banja Luka
I am Ji Koeun, a Korean student who visited Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the 2025/2026 winter semester international exchange program. I am truly delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in this program as an exchange student.
As a student of Economics, this experience allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the B&H economy within the European context, as well as the relationship between EU and non-EU countries. In particular, the one-on-one consultations with professors provided valuable insights, enabling me to explore various economic similarities and case studies between Republic of Srpska and South Korea, which greatly broadened my perspective.
It is a great honor to have taken part in this program, and I sincerely wish good luck and meaningful experiences to all future participants.

Across Borders: Ekaterina’s Semester at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka
As part of the winter semester 2025/26 international exchange program, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Banja Luka is hosting a student from the Russian Federation: Ekaterina Belotserkovskaia from Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Нigher Education "Voronezh State University", Faculty of Economics,Voronezh city, Russian Federation. Ekaterina is currently spending the autumn semester 2025/26 at Faculty of Economics University of Banja Luka, participating in academic activities, exploring local culture, and building connections with fellow students.
Her impressions and reflections on the exchange:
"This is my first time traveling to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkan region. Before arriving in Banja Luka, I was in Belgrade. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen, with fascinating culture and architecture.
Regarding the educational process, I would like to thank all the professors. They provide practical cases, which are much more interesting than just learning theoretical materials.
Moreover, I have met students from other faculties, and together we attended a student concert and several other events organized by student organizations. I explored the city, visited the castle, one of the famous churches and mosques, and walked along the Vrbas River. Banja Luka is a very beautiful and amazing city with incredible nature. I also visited Jajce, Krupa na Vrbasu, and Banj Brdo. In the near future, I would like to go to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo. I am very happy and wish good luck and wonderful experiences to all participants in the exchange program."

Incoming Student Mobility: Student Elizaveta Shurupova Experience
As part of the international cooperation of the Faculty of Economics, during the winter semester of the 2025/26 academic year, we are hosting a student from our partner institution in the Russian Federation – Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow.
We are pleased to share her personal impressions:
"My exchange program at the University of Banja Luka is incredibly vibrant and fulfilling. Alongside my academic studies, I've been doing a lot of traveling, for instance, to Serbia. I've also had the pleasure of meeting many students from all over the world, like from South Africa, South Korea, the USA, Turkey, and so on. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the Vice Dean for Scientific Research and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Dragan Gligoric, for the opportunity to attend the conference on Tobacco Taxation as an observer.
Of course, an exchange program comes with its own set of challenges, and it takes some time to fully adapt, but it is undoubtedly a valuable and unforgettable life experience.

Students from the University of Siena, Italy Spent the Summer Semester on Exchange at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka
The Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka had the pleasure of welcoming two students from the University of Siena, Italy, as part of the Erasmus+ exchange program. Vincenzo Mei and Carmine Mattia Marmo, both second-cycle (Master’s) students at the University of Siena, spent the summer semester — from February 28 to June 30, 2025 — studying at the Faculty of Economics.
During their semester in Banja Luka, the students attended classes, took part in academic and extracurricular activities, and immersed themselves in the local culture and everyday life of the city. Their presence significantly contributed to the internationalization of teaching and to the exchange of experiences among students and academic staff alike.
Such exchanges represent a vital part of our international cooperation efforts, strengthening academic ties and creating opportunities for future joint initiatives between the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and the University of Siena.
We share the students' experiences first-hand:
Vincenzo Mei:
"I never would have imagined that my Erasmus experience in Banja Luka would turn out to be so beautiful and fascinating. Every aspect of this place left a lasting impression on me: the city, the nature, the history – both recent and ancient – but most of all, the people. I truly believe there are no kinder, more welcoming people than those from the Balkans. Their way of life is very similar to the Italian one, and perhaps that's why I felt at home from the very beginning.
The university was simply perfect: professors were always available, understanding, and highly knowledgeable. Thanks to them, I was able to fully enjoy this experience and return to Italy with a much broader cultural background.
To any future student who may read this message: I strongly recommend coming here. Words alone can’t do justice to the beauty of this experience – you can only truly understand it by living it."
Carmine Mattia Marmo:
“This Erasmus experience in Banja Luka has been truly meaningful for me, both academically and personally. Studying in a different environment allowed me to engage with a new academic system, which enriched my learning approach and overall educational path.
I would also like to highlight the professionalism and helpfulness of the professors, who were always supportive and approachable — this really made a difference. On a personal level, living in Banja Luka gave me the chance to discover a different culture, appreciate the local traditions, language, and the warmth of the people. It wasn’t always easy to adapt at the beginning, but that challenge made the experience even more valuable.
It’s an experience I would recommend to anyone ready to step out of their comfort zone, grow, and learn more about themselves”
