Participation of Ljubiša Mićić in a Study Visit to Saint Petersburg
Ljubiša Mićić, Head of the Business Informatics study program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, took part in a study visit to Saint Petersburg within the “Russian–Balkan School on Cultural Heritage,” supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and organized by the Gorchakov Foundation.
During the program, Assoc. Prof. Mićić delivered a presentation on the digitalization of cultural heritage in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, discussing cultural heritage as a product that is commercialized and digitized. He showcased examples of good practice from Republika Srpska and BiH and compared local approaches with global experience and innovative digital models for the valorization of cultural heritage.
Beyond his own presentation, Mićić participated in a series of professional activities and visits, including guest lectures and workshops at ITMO University in Saint Petersburg and at the HSE—Higher School of Economics (Saint Petersburg campus). The program also included study visits to cultural and historical sites such as the Kochubey Center for Management Training (HSE) in Tsarskoye Selo, the Peter and Paul Fortress, and other notable heritage locations. In addition, together with a representative of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), he had a unique opportunity to visit the storage facilities of the renowned Hermitage Museum to learn first-hand how masterpieces are digitized and how technology is used in working with specific cultural “products.”
This study visit enabled the exchange of experience with experts from different countries, strengthened international cooperation, and provided new insights into opportunities for the digital transformation and sustainable development of cultural heritage. Alongside Assoc. Prof. Mićić, researchers and students from Republika Srpska, Serbia, and the Russian Federation also took part.

Participation of Ljubiša Mićić in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility (KA171) in Maribor, 23–28 June 2025
Ljubiša Mićić, Head of the Business Informatics study program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, participated in an Erasmus+ staff mobility (KA171) program in Maribor from 23 to 28 June 2025, at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Igor Perko, Associate Professor in e-Business and Head of the Institute for e-Business and Information Management at the University of Maribor.
During the visit, Mićić worked actively on the development and enhancement of the Business Informatics study program in collaboration with colleagues in Maribor. The focus was on potential improvements to course content and teaching methods, as well as the exchange of ideas and good practices in e-business. These ideas were discussed in joint meetings and workshops with the aim of strengthening teaching quality and international academic cooperation. He also attended a master’s thesis defense in the field of Business Informatics and had the opportunity to meet practitioners from the domain.
This engagement provided an important opportunity for intensive exchange of professional experience, nurturing institutional cooperation, and defining concrete guidelines for future joint projects in digital transformation, AI in business, and software development methodologies.

Participation of Ljubiša Mićić in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility at “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (Romania)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ljubiša Mićić, Head of the Business Informatics study program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, participated in an Erasmus+ staff mobility exchange at “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava, Romania, from 1 to 7 June 2025, with support from a teaching-oriented staff-exchange scholarship.
During his stay, Mićić delivered lectures to master’s students on the digital transformation of the workplace, with a particular focus on how digitalization reshapes the professional context and modes of work. The sessions aimed to empower students to develop competencies needed for a modern, digital work environment.
In addition to academic activities, Assoc. Prof. Mićić actively participated in events within the NEOLAIA alliance (https://neolaiacampus.eu/), to which “Ștefan cel Mare” University belongs, just as the University of Banja Luka is a member of the Across University Alliance (https://www.across-alliance.eu/), a partner initiative that enables academic cooperation and mobility within a network of universities.
Through this participation, Mićić not only shared expertise and experience, but also contributed to strengthening international ties and fostering strategic cooperation between the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, and the partner institution in Romania. A return visit by professors from Suceava to the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka was also announced.

Participation of Ljubiša Mićić in Thomas More International Days 2025
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ljubiša Mićić, Head of the Business Informatics study program, participated in the Thomas More International Days 2025 at Thomas More University in Belgium from 17 to 21 March 2025 through the Erasmus+ academic staff exchange program. At the invitation of Tinne Van Echelpoel, International Coordinator at the partner institution Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Mićić delivered a guest lecture titled “Planning and Estimation of Software in Agile Teams,” attended by students of this university as well as professors from other universities participating in the event.
In addition to the lecture, Ljubiša Mićić used the visit for active networking and exchange with colleagues, participating in the plenary session, thematic discussions, and working meetings. Particularly notable were bilateral talks with colleagues from partner universities, focusing on future projects, teaching collaboration, and the exchange of students and staff within the Erasmus+ program.
Importantly, as a result of these guest lectures and international engagements at Thomas More University, that university offers Erasmus+ scholarships not only to students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, but—more recently—also to students of the Business Informatics study program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka. Several students from this program have already benefited from the exchange, either spending a semester at Thomas More or participating in summer schools.
This participation further strengthened the international ties of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, and opened new opportunities for joint projects and the development of curricula in Business Informatics and Project Management.

Participation of Ljubiša Mićić in an Erasmus+ Exchange at a Leading German Higher-Education Institution — Freie Universität Berlin
Ljubiša Mićić, Head of the Business Informatics study program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, took part in an academic exchange at Freie Universität Berlin during the 2024/25 winter academic term, with financial support from the Erasmus+ staff-exchange program for academic personnel of the University of Banja Luka, awarded through a competitive procedure.
During the visit, Mićić delivered lectures to first- and second-cycle economics students at Freie Universität Berlin. In addition to teaching, he engaged in intensive international networking, participating in academic exchanges and discussions with colleagues at Freie Universität Berlin, which further contributed to collaboration and the exchange of experience between the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and German academic partners. Assoc. Prof. Mićić was the only representative of our university to receive the aforementioned Erasmus+ scholarship, which opens the door to further cooperation between the two institutions. Through this participation, Mićić strengthened educational and research links and opened new avenues for joint projects and future academic initiatives in Business Informatics and Economics.

Academic Staff of the Faculty of Economics Participated in a Summer School in the Netherlands within the Erasmus+ Programme
From June 30 to July 4, 2025, representatives of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, participated in a summer school at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, as part of the Erasmus+ academic staff mobility program.
Prof. Dr. Mirjana Milijević, Milica Marić, MA, and Vladana Ritan attended the course “Introduction to Machine Learning with R and RStudio Applications,” which focused on the application of basic machine learning methods for statistical data analysis using the R programming language.
Through this specialized training, the participants had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge, enhance their research competencies, and establish valuable connections with colleagues from other European higher education institutions.
The mobility was implemented within the Erasmus+ program, which continuously contributes to the improvement of higher education quality through international cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Participation of Prof. Dr. Tajana Serdar Raković at the 17th International Week – University of Maribor
Prof. dr Tajana Serdar Raković participated in the 17th International Week (IW) held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, Slovenia, from May 12 to May 16, 2025.
As part of this week, the 9th International Scientific Conference (ISC) was held on May 13, 2025, under the title: “Sustainable Management in the Age of ESG and AI: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities.” More information about the conference is available at: https://www.iwac-feb.eu/
The conference gathered a large number of authors from around the world, presenting a rich variety of topics and research papers of high relevance and interest.
During her visit, professor Serdar Raković delivered three lectures to students at the Faculty of Economics and Business and established meaningful professional connections with colleagues from Maribor.
Her participation in the International Week proved to be extremely valuable in strengthening her professional network, enhancing international academic cooperation, and supporting future scientific collaboration between the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor.

Visiting Lecture by Professor dr Branka Zolak Poljašević at the Budapest University of Economics and Business
Prof. Dr. Branka Zolak Poljašević, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, visited the Budapest University of Economics and Business, Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism, from May 5 to May 9, 2025, as part of teaching mobility within the CEEPUS network.
During her stay, Prof. Dr. Zolak Poljašević actively participated in teaching activities. Within the course Economic Policy, she delivered a lecture titled: “The Impact of Labor Market Policies on Recruitment Strategies.”
She also held a guest lecture in the course Introduction to the European Union Studies, focusing on: “The Free Movement of Workers in the EU: Challenges for HR Management.”
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, the visit provided an excellent opportunity for professional exchange with Hungarian academic staff. Discussions focused on current approaches in teaching and research, as well as the potential for establishing future forms of cooperation.
This mobility reflects the ongoing commitment of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, to strengthening international academic collaboration and supporting high-quality academic networking.
