Presentation “Key components of study visit to Arezzo: what have I learned?”

On the 26th of December 2023, starting at 11 AM, Milica Marić, Teaching Assistant, gave a presentation on the key components of the study visit to Arezzo, Italy. The presentation was organized in room 3 of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka and it consisted of key learning components of the first round of Secondments to the Arezzo. The study visit was coordinated by a local partner in Arezzo, OpenCom organization which organized several activities and ground visits. As a part of the study visit, Milica together with other participants from Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania has visited several institutions and organizations connected to Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Education, and other relevant topics. Among other activities, the study visit included d visit to the University of Siena, a presentation of the project “OITBC-MSMES - Observatory and Initial Training on Business Crisis for MSMES”, attending the conference “Fighting climate change and its challenges: the links between the need environmental literacy and the prevention of radicalization of climate activism” as well as training “Project management as a Pedagogic Device” organized by “Project Management” and “Training” Departments of OpenCom. It also included visits to companies such are Estra Spa Holding and AISA Impianti.
Study Visit was a regular activity within the project "Up-skilling researchers for Sustainable Entrepreneurship based on Innovation Process Management" - USE IPM, with the support of the European Union (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-03-01).

Presentation of the USE IPM project and guest lecture in Croatia, Zagreb – 21st of December 2023
The USE IPM project was presented at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb, as part of a guest lecture in the subject Entrepreneurship in the bachelor degree studies in Business, 4th year of the study program in English.
On behalf of the Coordinator of the USE IPM project, Faculty of Economics, University of Niš, the goals and expected outcomes of the project, partners and key project activities in the next four-year period were presented by the coordinator of the project team of the University of Banja Luka - CPME - Center for Project Management and Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Economics of the University in Banja Luka, professor Saša Petković, PhD.
The lecture on the topic: "Creative entrepreneurial process - starting a business from scratch: designing innovative models" was attended by students from Croatia, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Germany, who had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the field of innovating business models, as well as to familiarize themselves with the expected results of the project "Up-skilling researchers for sustainable entrepreneurship based on innovation process management" - USE IPM, supported by of the European Union (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-03-01).

USE IPM project – study visit to Arezzo
The first group of researchers within the USE IPM project is participating in a study visit in Arezzo, Italy, from 1st to 16th December 2023, as part of the activities planned in working package1. In the first group our university is represented by teaching assistant Milica Marić is staying in Arezzo, while the second group will visit Arezzo in January next year.
The partner in this activity is OpenCom, which organized activities on the topic "Managing sustainability as an innovative process leading to POSITIVE change". The researchers had the opportunity to learn about the work of OpenCom and the projects they are currently implementing, and to attend the conference "Fighting climate change and its challenges: the links between the need of environmental literacy and the prevention of radicalization of climate activism".
Additionally, a visit to the University of Siena was organized, where projects and activities in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship were discussed. The innovation center Santa Chiara Lab was also presented, as an example of good practice that connects the academic and business communities and encourages the entrepreneurial spirit.
The researchers had training on project management, where the instructors were experts with experience in this field, and they also visited the companies Estra SpA and AISA Impianti and learned about their approach to sustainable business.

Focus group research on soft skills – USE IPM project
A research team from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Banja Luka, led by full-time professor Sasa Petkovic, PhD, has organized a focus group with experienced managers and human resource managers on 28th of November 2023. The focus group was organized as a part of unique research on the projected conditions and the importance of the "soft" skills of individuals for starting and developing their own business. The results of the research will be used for the further implementation of the project "Up-skilling researchers for Sustainable Entrepreneurship based on Innovation Process Management" - USE IPM.
The group consisted of two HR managers, Ms. Bobana Stojičić from LPP BH d.o.o. and Ms. Rada Stanetic , from Atos Bank, a.d. Banja Luka joined by four general managers: professor Saša Vučenović, PhD, President of Board of Directors of Premium Insurance Company; Mr. Ranko Petrušić, General manager and founder of InfoArs, an IT and media company; Mr. Zoran Joldžić, CEO from GMP KOMPANI, a furniture company; and Mr. Bojan Vuković, Owner and CEO of DVC Solutions, an IT company. Professor Saša Petković has been moderator with the participation of other researchers in research team: professor Milenko Krajišnik, PhD and dean of the Faculty of Economics; professor Branka Topić Pavković, PhD and assistant professor Ljubiša Mićić, PhD.
Research is conducted as a regular activity within the project "Up-skilling researchers for Sustainable Entrepreneurship based on Innovation Process Management" - USE IPM, with the support of the European Union (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-03-01).

USE IPM project - presentations of young talents
On September 29, 2023, young talents, participants of the study visit to Strasbourg, held presentations of what they had learned through the visits that took place in late August and early September. The presentations were held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka with the participation of professors and administrative staff of this institution.
On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Saša Petković, project coordinator, presented the project, its goals and expected results, after which the young talents held four thematic presentations. The presentations were prepared by Assistant Profesor, Ljubiša Mićić, PhD, PhD Jadranka Petrović, senior teaching assistant, MA Milica Marić, teaching assistant and Milica Bogdanović, foreign language professor.
The presentations were organized as a regular activity within the project "Improving the skills of researchers for sustainable entrepreneurship based on the management of innovation processes" - USE IPM, with the support of the European Union (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-03-01).

Kick-off meeting of the USE IPM project – 13th – 14th of July 2023
CPME – Center for Project Management and Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja, as one of 12 partner organizations, participate in two-day Kick off meeting of the project: "Up-skilling researchers for sustainable entrepreneurship based on innovation process management" – USE IPM, supported by the European Union (HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS-03-01).
The meeting was held at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Niš, Serbia, the coordinator of USE IPM, 13-14 July 2023. At the meeting, partner organizations, and project work packages were presented and the first project activities related to the study visit of talents - researchers to the ALDA organization in Strasbourg, France, in August and September 2023 were agreed upon. The CPME team will be represented by six associates and teachers of the Faculty of Economics. The general objective of the project is to accelerate cooperation between the academic institutions (from widening countries) and non-academic community, by enhancing capacities of the academic institutions for research and innovation (R&I) towards sustainable entrepreneurship, based on innovation process management.
